A Sadhu was teaching his disciples. He showed them three dolls. They had holes for the ears and mouth. The Sadhu put a thin flexible stick through the ear of a doll and it came out through the mouth. The Sadhu explained, “This is the man who blabbers
whatever he hears to whoever he meets.” He then put the stick through the ear of another doll. The stick came out through the other ear. The Sadhu explained, “This is the man who receives whatever he hears through one ear and lets it out the other.”
The Sadhu took the next doll and put the stick through the ear. The stick went in and stayed there. The Sadhu explained, “This is the mature man. He will use whatever good he hears to move ahead in life and whatever bad he hears will be buried within
him.”
We must hear carefully like this man and make use of all good information to climb the ladder of life and not repeat the bad we hear.
