An old man was planting a mango sapling. He was digging and watering breathlessly. Another man passing by pitied him and asked, “Why are you taking so much trouble? You are old and it will take many years before the plant can grow into a tree and yield
fruit. You won’t be there to eat it.”
The old man gave a wise reply: “My grandfather planted trees and I am eating the fruits. He is not here today. How will my grandchildren eat fruits if I do not plant trees?”
Think of the future generations. Do not destroy trees. Plant trees. Be careful in your use of water and electricity. The earth is a gift to us from God and its upkeep is our responsibility.
