When the American President Abraham Lincoln was an advocate, a rich man came to him. A poor man owed him five dollars. The rich man wanted to file a case against the poor man for this.
“Why do you want to sue a poor man for this silly reason?” argued Abraham Lincoln and tried to put some sense into the rich man’s head. But the rich man turned a deaf ear.
“OK,” said Abraham Lincoln, “The fees for me to take up this case is 10 dollars.” The rich man immediately took out 10 dollars and gave to Abraham Lincoln.
Abraham Lincoln took the 10 dollars, gave 5 dollars to the poor man and asked him to clear his debt. The rich man happily took the 5 dollars and walked home.
Be liberal with the poor. We don’t realize that by being mean to the poor we become the losers.
