A grasshopper was hopping about in the field, singing and dancing, playing and enjoying immensely because it was summer and the sun was shining bright. It saw an ant carrying a big, heavy rice grain with great difficulty.
“Come and chat with me. We can play for some time. The climate is good,” said the grasshopper. “I have work to do. I must save for the winter. Why are you playing now. Come with me. We shall collect food for the winter,” said the ant.
“I don’t worry about anything. I have enough food for the present. Why bother?” said the grasshopper. The ant went its way, carrying the grain. Again and again it carried grain to the storehouse.
Winter came. It was bitter cold and food was scarce. The grasshopper was hungry. It saw the ants feasting in their house. They were warm and well-fed. The grasshopper realized its folly of not saving for the winter.
Do not spend all the money you have. Work hard and save for the future.
