Long, long ago there lived a king who loved to walk. He walked all over his country. He walked up the hill and down the valleys. He walked through forests and deserts. Those days nobody wore footwear. So the king’s feet became sore and started to bleed.
The king still wanted to walk. He ordered his prime minister to kill thousands and thousands of bulls and goats and cover all the roads and all his paths with their skin. The Prime Minister was very sad to kill so many animals. He thought of an idea. He killed one ox and covered the king’s foot with the skin of the ox. Now the king felt comfortable and started walking again. Then people started wearing shoes and slippers.
It is easier to change yourself than to change others.
