A greedy miser was walking through a field. Suddenly he realized that his purse with thirty gold coins was missing. He walked back trying to find his purse. He saw a labourer working in the field and asked him about it. He had not seen the purse. Just
then his daughter came running with the purse saying, “Papa, I found this purse in the field. See if it belongs to anybody.”
The labourer gave the purse to the man. He checked the purse. The greedy man tried to take advantage of the poor man and said, “There were forty gold coins in the purse. What happened to ten coins?”
He took the poor man to the court. The judge understood the wickedness of the miser and said, “Your purse had forty gold coins. So this is not your purse.” So he gave the purse to the labourer and sent them away.
Greed breeds misery.
