A shepherd boy lived in a little village where everybody was contented and happy. One day the lad found a crystal ball while grazing his sheep. A note attached to it read that it can bless anyone by fulfilling one wish.
The boy brought the ball to the village. The people were happy. One man wanted a mansion and he got it. Another requested gorgeous costumes and he received boxes full of dresses. One wanted jewels and another sheep and oxen.
For some time all were quite happy. Soon the man in the mansion was jealous of his neighbour in rich dresses. He in turn wanted jewels. That man wished he had asked for cattle. There was bickering, jealousy, unhappiness and fights. The boy felt very sad and wanted the crystal ball to turn his village to its original state. Now they all lived as happy as before.
Life is not made up of the things we possess. It is love, peace and joy.
