A thorn bush was very jealous of the Banyan tree. “I am very lonely. But you have lot of friends. People and cattle are with you. Birds and squirrels play with you while I am alone here,” she complained.
The Banyan tree said: “I give them nice shade. I give them fruit to eat. That’s why they come to me. You prick them painfully and that’s why nobody comes to you.”
We must be generous and loving to have lot of friends. If we hurt people by our words and behaviour, people will avoid us leaving us lonely.
