Bless O Lord true Jehovah God
We humbly plead with Thee
With a revival in Holy Word
That the truth may set us free.
Bless O Lord with Abrahams
Of faith to consecrate
And Josephs keen on holiness
Though prison fetters wait.
Bless O Lord with Moseses
Who through the sea can free
Those in traditional bondages
As blind as blind could be.
Bless O Lord with Joshuas
Judges, kings and sagely seer
Claiming the land with bold demand
From devil’s clutches clear.
Bless O Lord with Hannah’s tear
To bring forth prophets bold
Counting backslidden Sauls too dear
And weep them back to fold.
Bless O Lord with Davidic youth
To serve our generation
Killing the giant of sin and sloth
And multiple desecration.
Bless O Lord with Josiah
Asa, Hezekia
Setting this earth’s revival blaze
Our long-sought panacea.
Bless O Lord, we yearn for men
Like Ezra, ready scribe
Needed are they to seek Your Word
To do and teach and write.
Bless O Lord, we can’t but cry
For Nehemiahs as of old
Rebuild, restore and retort ‘Why?’
And drive the devil cold.
Bless O Lord, where can we go
For Deborahs, Esthers, Ruths
When we shed tears will You say ‘No’
To lead our sister’s troops.
Bless O Lord, with Jeremiahs
Before the Day Star dawn
To weep and warn Your coming morn
The millions but forlorn.
Bless O Lord our student mass
With Daniels and his friends
An army for the Bible cause
Defeat our nation’s trends.
Bless O Lord with men from You
Like Johns to thunder call
Care the less for consequence
But plunder one and all.
Bless O Lord with widows’ mites
The lad’s five loaves two fish
Joanna, Susanna, Magdalene’s tithes
That’s more than what we wish.
Bless O Lord with Jesuses
True replicas of Him
Signs and wonders and miracles
To untold millions win.
Bless O Lord with Peters, Pauls
To reach the spectrum height
Gentiles, Jews and killer Sauls
Under Your cross unite.
Bless O Lord, with brave Luthers
Finneys, Careys, Wesleys, Hydes
Brainerds, Goforths, Mary Slessors
Judsons, Wycliffes, Knoxes tides.
Bless O Lord, we bless You fain
Because You heard our prayer
