A Christmas tree was growing on the edge of a forest. It was Christmastime and he could see many Christmas trees gorgeously decorated and twinkling through glass windows in the town. The tree wished to be as beautiful. One day four boys came and started cutting him. It was unbearably painful but he bore the pain because he imagined himself to be a lovely Christmas tree.
The boys tied the tree to their cycle and carried it to town. They planted it in the open ground and started decorating it. The next day was Christmas. All the children sang and danced around the tree and the tree was thrilled at all the attention it got.
The next day he was withering. A man came, carried the tree, put it in a store room, locked the room and left. It was dark, dingy and suffocating. The tree thought of the mountain breeze it enjoyed in the forest and wept.
After a week two men came and carried the tree out and started cutting it into logs. The tree writhed in pain as they cut. For some days the logs dried in the sun and finally were used as firewood.
Some things in life may look rosy from a distance. You are too young to know the dangers in the world. You must trust the wisdom of your parents and elders and go by their guidance.
