Radha’s right eye was very unhappy to be an eye. She felt it very unfair that she had to cry for the problem of every part of the body. If the leg had pain or stomach had, she had to cry. Moreover even a small dust made her cry whereas the neck or even the face just wiped it off. She complained to God and God gave her the choice. She thought if she could be the foot she could walk to all places. So God made her a foot.
She was very happy wandering until she stepped on a big thorn. “Ouch” she cried. The pain was terrible. She felt sorry for her choice and wanted to be the hand. It would be so nice to receive gifts from everyone. “OK,” said God, “I’ll make you a hand.” That day in school the teacher asked Radha for her homework. Radha had forgotten her homework. “Show me your hand,” the teacher growled and gave a nice beating on her hand with a scale. “Cruel, cruel,” the eye cried. “It is not at all nice. God make me the mouth. This is my last wish. I’ll be eating ice-cream and sweets and I’ll be happy. I will not ask you anything more.” So God made her the mouth. She ate biriyani, chicken and ice-cream for a day.
The next day Radha had to see a dentist for her tooth ache. The doctor gave an injection inside the mouth and pulled out a tooth. Radha’s eye screamed and cried. “I want to be the right eye, God, I want to be the right eye.” So God once again made her the right eye. And there she is, even today, happy, contented and doing her job without complaining, looking around the beautiful world and enjoying the scenery.
We all belong to one body. We are all parts of one body. Be happy whatever God made you to be.
