A farmer was taking a sack load of grains to the store house. The grains were crying. The sack was stuffy and dark. There was a hole in the sack. Some grains said they could not stand the torture and wanted to escape through the hole. They slipped out and fell on the road. Birds and rats devoured them. The sack was kept in the store house and some more grains decided to escape. They slipped outside and fell on the store house floor. They could breathe
more easily now. But a maid came and swept them off and threw them in the drain.
The other grains suffocated, cried and wailed for how long they did not know. One day the farmer came and carried the sack of grains to the field. He opened the sack and scattered the grains. The grains enjoyed the fresh breeze and the soft bed. They were given water to drink and food to eat. They grew and grew and yielded plenty of grains. How happy and proud they were!
It is not easy to be under God’s hands. We have to endure times of suffering and hardship. If we try to escape we will meet with disastrous ends. But if we keep ourselves under the mighty hand of God, in ‘due time’ He will exalt us. So wait patiently for the “due time.”
