1.   To shepherd Israel (Mt 2:6).
2.   To baptize people with the Holy Spirit and fire (Mt 3:11; Lk 3:16).
3.   To clean the threshing floor, gather His wheat into the barn and burn the chaff (Mt 3:12). 
4.   To fulfil the Law and the Prophets (Mt 5:17).
5.   Not to call the righteous but sinners to repentance (Mt 9:13; Mk 2:17; Lk 5:32).
6.   Not to bring peace but a sword. To turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law (Mt 10:34).
7.   Sent to the lost sheep of Israel (Mt 15:24).

9.   He came not to be served but to serve and to give His life a ransom for many (Mt

11. That we should be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us (Lk 1:71).
12. To perform the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember His holy covenant (Lk 1:72).
13. That we might serve Him without fear in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life (Lk 1:74, 75).
14. To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death (Lk 1:79).
15. To guide our way into the way of peace (Lk 1:79). 
16. To take care of His Father's business (Lk 2:49).
17. To preach the Gospel to the poor (Lk 4:18).
18. To heal the broken-hearted (Lk 4:18).
19. To proclaim liberty to the captives (Lk 4:18).
20. To recover the sight of the blind (Lk 4:18).
21. To set at liberty those who are oppressed (Lk 4:18).
22. To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord (Lk 4:19).
23. Not to destroy men's lives but to save them (Lk 9:56).
24. To send fire on the earth (Lk 12:49).
25. To finish the work that His Father gave (Jn 4:34; 17:4).
26. To do His Father's will (Jn 6:38).
27. For judgment, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind (Jn 9:39).
28. To suffer and give His life (Jn 12:27).
29. To give light so that no one who believes in Him should stay in darkness (Jn 12:46).
30. To bear witness to the truth (Jn 18:37).
31. To be King of the Jews (Mt 2:2; Jn 8:37)
